Ethiopia has the fastest growing African economy for a country that
does not produce oil. Moreover, it is one of the top ten fastest growing
economies in the world. Its GDP has been growing on an average
of 11.2% for the last eight consecutive years. The amount of imports
and exports experienced by Ethiopia has also increased by leaps
and bounds. To maintain this economic growth and to aide in its rapid
transformation, the country has implemented a five year Growth and
Transformation Plan (GTP) for the period 2010/11-2014/15.
